Finally Able to Plant Wheat Again

May 20, 1930  Again somewhat cloudy.  Otherwise a nice day.  Jacob and Corney worked in the field the whole day.  Johan and I planted in the garden.  Mary did spring cleaning in her room.  Mama made food and mended clothes.

On the 9^th, the Siemens had dug channels to try to drain water from their fields because it was too muddy to plant wheat.  But it had not dried enough for them to get back into the fields until the 19^th, but as soon as they started planting, the rain started falling again, so they quit.  But today, the 20^th, Jake and Corney were able to plant the whole day.  They were getting closer to getting the wheat in the ground.
